Coronary arteries – oxygenates and nourishes the heart; arises at the beginning of the aorta behind the aortic valve
1. Left Coronary Artery - supplies blood to the left myocardium
a. Left anterior descending artery – supplies blood to Anterior wall of left ventricle, AV septum, APEX of left ventricle
b. Circumflex artery – supplies blood to the left atrium, lateral and posterior part of the left side of heart
2. Right Coronary Artery - supplies blood to the right myocardium (SA/AV node, Posterior septal node)
